Character Name: Deadpool
Character Real Name: Wade Wilson
Deadpool Comic is Published By: Marvel (NOT DC COMICS – Understand this very important distinction)
Deadpool Abilities: What Deadpool is especially known for is having the ability to regenerate – essentially repair damaged tissue at a highly accelerated rate. In fact, Deadpool’s healing ability is strong enough that he has previously survived complete incineration and decapitation on more than one occasion. He is for all intensive purposes IMMORTAL, which can make for some rather ‘comedic’ deaths. Other than that Deadpool is a highly trained assassin and mercenary, adept in multiple forms of martial arts, and an expert swordsman and marksman. He often employs a number of bladed (swords) and projectile type weapons (guns) to dispatch foes.
Actor Playing Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds
Other Notable Films Ryan Reynolds Starred In: Green Lantern, Safe House, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (where he played Deadpool once before – pay attention to this particular point)
Comic Deadpool FIRST Appeared In: The New Mutants #98 (NOT IMPORTANT..however you may score GODDESS-LEVEL points if you can casually bring this up in conversation)

Deadpool Movie

What Makes Deadpool Different Than Others?

I am going to assume that your significant other has drug you to a number of other comic book films already, am I right? Maybe you’ve either seen or at least heard of – The Avengers? X-Men? Spider-Man? At least Batman and/or Superman? Well, Deadpool is a bit different. How exactly? Let me try to make this reeeeeeeeaaaaaallly brief…

Deadpool is aware that he is a fictional comic book character (yes, I know this is already spooking you you out, but trust me, it somehow…’works’ for this character and his story). He commonly breaks what is referred to as the ‘fourth wall’ (“The fourth wall” is an expression stemming from the world of theater. In most modern theater design, a room will consist of three physical walls, as well as a an imaginary fourth that serves to separate the world of the characters from that of the audience), which tends to create humorous effect.

Deadpool is Mentally Unstable (As serious a condition this is in REAL life, in the comics and Marvel Deadpool comics in particular, this ‘illness’ actually works in his favor). Deadpool’s regenerative ability is a boon to his existence but unfortunately it has also caused a form of psychosis and mental instability, as his neurons are also affected by the accelerated regeneration. The benefit of Deadpool suffering from this side affect is that it makes him unpredictable to his opponents.
