Brief Review of The Gifted TV Show
I’ll make this short and quick and start with this – if you like comic books, like the plethora of comic book-based films out, like the X-MEN or even just some really cool supernatural, superpower story, then The Gifted TV Show airing now on FOX is must-see TV for you!
Here is a brief synopsis of The Gifted TV Show:
Marvel expands its footprint on the television landscape with this new family adventure series about an ordinary suburban family whose lives change course forever when they discover their children have developed mutant powers. When the threat of a hostile government forces the family to go on the run to protect themselves, they join the ranks of an underground network of mutants. Together, the group fight to survive in a world where fear and misunderstanding put them at constant risk. “X-Men” alums Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are among the executive producers.
Here is the trailer for The Gifted TV Show:
So basically, think a younger version of the X-Men, not yet a cohesive team like the X-Men were but still just as powerful in some respect.
The story starts us off in a world where mutants are hunted by a mysterious government agency, and youthful, mutant underground movement fights to survive.
We see not only individuals with cool mutant abilities but some, more obscure X-Men mutants straight out of the comics, as identified here on INVERSE [Here Are the Mutants of Fox’s New X-Men Show ‘The Gifted’].
The action is good, the effects are surprisingly solid, for a TV show and the story is not unlike a story we’re pretty much familiar with, if you’ve seen any X-Men films or comic books.
A strong start to be sure, for a superhero-based television show, which is saying a lot, especially in-light of Marvel’s INHUMANS, which also just started and not fairing too well.
So if you’re looking for a good show to carry you on through the Fall, and like comicbook-based films, then THIS show needs to be on your watch list.
