We’ve seen teasers and now the official LUKE CAGE Netflix trailer is out and it doesn’t disappoint. See it here.

Official Synopsis

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Luke Cage Netflix
We first got a taste of what to expect from Luke Cage (Mike Colter) when he appeared alongside Jessica Jones in her Netflix series debut (which was awesome, by the way…), and now the bullet-proof, super strength reluctant superhero gets his own origin story as told through the Netflix-Marvel collaboration.

Mahershala Ali plays the hard hitting drug lord Cornell Stokes (in the comics known as Cornell Cottenmouth. In the comics this character had some manner of abilities, but that is yet to be seen in the Luke Cage Netflix Original. In any case, I like Mahershala Ali in a gaggle of other films he’s been in, and this one will be by far the most sinister of them by the looks of it.

The trailer looks great and will most likely ‘tow the Netflix trait’ of being gritty, street-level heroics with little CGI/Special effects and a more realistic tone that resonates and keeps audiences engaged and involved. Netflix has a formula that has worked successfully with the Daredevil and Jessica Jones series and I anticipate we’ll get more of the same here with Luke Cage. Which is a GREAT THING, make no mistake about it!

So without further ado, see the trailer below…
